The Palm Springs/Desert Cities Events Committee for the California Men's Gatherings
is sponsoring a visit to the Palm Springs Art Museum. The tour will
be approximately one and one-half hours in duration. This
tour will concentrate on different exhibits than the previous tour (e.g., D.J. Hall's "Frida Kahlo" exhibit.) As
before, our guide will be Vinny Stoppia. Most people from the first tour will
remember how fun and knowledgeable he is.
Vinny has been a docent at the Palm Springs Art
Museum for eight years. He is originally from New York City where he worked for the United
Nations for 23 years. Since retiring, he has been one of Palm Springs most active volunteers. Perhaps
you have taken one of his Spanish classes at the Pride Center or have seen his photo as volunteer
of the month. Vinny's museum tour will include the museum's collections and the Weiner Sculpture
exhibit. He is very knowledgeable and he is very entertaining.
The Palm Springs Art Museum
was established in 1938. What began as a museum about the desert has evolved into an oasis
for the arts. For highlights of the museum's collections and exhibits, visit their web page
for the museum at: www.psmuseum.org.
