Our CMG Data Manager, Ben~Andy, explains the sign up process:
eNotify is how the California Men's Gatherings lets you know what's happening in CMG space while we're outside it. Only YOU can sign yourself up and only YOU can unsubscribe yourself, we just tell you how to do it.
Here are your 3 options:
You can sign up to receive notification for Northern events only [Bay Area/San Francisco and Sacramento] or
notification for Southern events only [Los Angeles, Desert Cities Area/Palm Springs, and San Diego] or
you can sign up to receive notification of ALL California events.
The process is the same. It is the same to unsubscribe, too.
|
What you do is enter your e-mail address in the box and indicate your choices
[subscribe or unsubscribe and North, South, or All events].
To change e-mail addresses, subscribe under your new one and then go back and
unsubscribe your old one.
The system will tell you if you are already signed up exactly the same way.
If you are changing from one area to All events or vice versa, you'll need to
unsubscribe to the one you don't want.
The system simply keeps three different lists.
Everyone gets notices of Gatherings and all Gathering-related events wherever they are held.
You are warned about the final step when you submit your information.
The system will send an e-mail to the address given.
That e-mail includes a link back to the Web site.
You have to click that link to complete the process.
That protects you from having your settings changed by anyone else and keeps us from
being called spammers.
If you don't reply via that link, you are not subscribed / unsubscribed.
You can sign up as many different e-mail accounts as you want.
The system won't let you sign up for multiple posts to the same account.
It also will delete you if your mail comes back too many times in a row, so empty
your box now and again, hey?
Lastly, here's a note about e-mail filtering. All of our CMG notification messages are sent from the domain "thecmg.com." Please use this domain name when configuring e-mail or spam
filter rules, if you use them.
